Being a Senior Care Assistant isn’t just about providing leadership and support for a care team. It’s about acting as a role model for good practice and a great support for residents’ dignity and safety. It’s about regularly assessing, monitoring and reviewing day-to-day processes and coming up with improvements where required. And, it's about ensuring that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are properly maintained and effectively used.
Caring experience is essential including a good understanding of care planning processes and a proven ability to write concise care plans. OCS is looking for individuals who are well-organised, with excellent supervisory skills and used to planning, allocating, and delegating work appropriately. What's more, if you are a qualified overseas nurse or holding a bachelor degree with caring experience can apply for this job.
Senior Carer jobs come under the skilled worker visa category; to qualify for this category you need to clear United Kingdom Visa and Immigration (UKVI) IELTS with a minimum score of 4. However, to qualify for senior carer jobs with our clients we require you to clear IELTS minimum overall of 5. If you have an overseas academic degree taught in English (Most of the bachelors degree from India is included in this category) then you can apply for Statement of Comparability from UK ENIC (Formerly known as UK NARIC). If you get UK ENIC statement of compatibility then you don't need to get a UKVI IELTS for your visa application. OCS placement assistant staff will advise you how to apply for this.
The new Immigration Rules introduced on 29th March 2019 allow UK overseas students switch into the Tier 2 job visa 3 months prior to the expected completion date of thier course. You must be applying from the UK and apply prior to the expiry of your current Tier 4 student visa.
If you have completed bachelors degree or Masters degree from a recognised UK university you don't need to clear UKVI IELTS for your tier 2 job visa. For further details about recognised universities contact our placement assistant staff.
Sponsorship Information
We advise you to get the required score before applying for the visa, in order to process your job application you initially give us an updated CV and copy of your passport we will then schedule you for a client interview and apply for a certificate of sponsorship (CoS)
Once we receive an updated CV from you, we will shortlist you for initial screening where we assess your language proficiency. If you are successful in the initial screening our resourcing officer will create access to our 'Care worker UK' training module and schedule you for a client interview. We are expecting you to arrive in the UK within 4-6 weeks time following success in the client interview
It is absolutely based on your decision; we have clients who can issue you 3 years and 5 years of tier 2 sponsorship. With the UK government's current rule, you will qualify for permanent residency following 5 years of stay on a Tier 2 sponsorship visa.
If you have completed, or are completing a UK qualification such as Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Postgraduate Certificate in Education, Professional Graduate Diploma of Education (except UK PhD) in the next 3 months, you may be eligible to apply for a Tier 2 (General) visa.
